Travel Inspired Shoot (Ruby Anne + Riel)

Couple Ruby Anne and Riel @ Eden Nature Park, Davao City

This is just a teaser of last weekend's engagement shoot with my niece Ruby Anne and Riel at Eden Nature Park, Davao City. It is one of my favorite locations here in Davao, aside from being a tourist destination, the beauty of nature itself serves as a perfect backdrop to create beautiful portraits and cherished memories. We had a travel inspired theme since this Cebu-based couple really loves to travel a lot whether here or outside the country (thanks to Cebu Pacific Air) and I can't hardly wait to post it here in my blog. =D

The place to be. The couple were born and raised in Cebu :)

Last March 2011, I had a brief trip in Cebu, the couple showed me and my friends around downtown Cebu. We happen to talk about their wedding plans that is why I proposed to them that I would like to do an engagement session with them hopefully in the future. May it be if I could visit Cebu again or they would come and visit Davao. I was glad that they took a chance to visit us. Despite their uptight schedule, we were able to squeeze in the shoot just a few hours before the tour @ the park started. Murag pud mi ug nag amazing race.

Thanks to the ever supportive people who were with us during that day (Ate Joanne, Uncle Mark, Anne, Kuya Matt, and the couple's best friends Jonna and Clark with their 2 little angels). It was a hectic yet fun weekend. XOXO

* Will post photos of their E-session soon.....

 'til their journey begins....

Christmas Ideas (My DIY Christmas Post Card)

It's already late, but since I can't sleep because I just had 2 consecutive night duties and have slept for the whole day today. I came up with something, a quirky Christmas postcard of my Operating Room family in Southern Philippines Medical Center. We will be having the "Pirates" theme for our Party, so I accentuated it with pirate "art" with a Christmas touch. The image below is the finished product. We work hard, we party even harder!.

My very own Christmas Post Card:

Finished product: Limitless creativity within just a click. Images of different themes or occasions are just a click away.
The Original photo before it was post-processed by picnik.

How to make one?

I'm a big fan of Adobe Photoshop, I am using CS4 version. But if you are not the type who would patiently sit in front of the computer to study it's tools, settings and functions. I would like to share/recommend www.picnik.com , it is an online Photo editing tool, since people nowadays are into photography whether for business or pleasure. The good part about this photo editor is that you can avail their services whether or not you are member. Installing the program in your computer is not required, but you can only access its basic settings and minimal accessibility to other effects. It is an advantage if your would also register, for you to make use of the much complex tools (how to register your own account: www.picnik.com/auth/picnik/register), while paying for the premium version is only optional, 1 year subscription will only cost you $24.95. Processing your photos has never been this easy. Just explore to maximize the endless possibilities that it has to offer without giving you a headache, so just work on your imagination and be creative. You might ask about photo sharing to other networks and saving your files, it's also very convenient. There are links in their website so you could easily access your other accounts. I've known of Picnik for almost 5 years now. Of course nothing beats Photoshop, yet for busy people like me, I'd rather say I'll go for convenience.

After photo processing: used only the Focal Focus and Focal zoom

Check out this site: www.picnik.com

I'd recommend this to Bloggers, Artists, Students,Online Businesses, Photo Enthusiasts/Hobbyist, or just anyone who wanted to have good quality photos.

Edsel & Mildred (Old School Love)

An engagement session with two good friends way back from college. They were together for quite sometime (7 or 8 years not really sure. yay!) and finally tied the knot last July 27,  2011. I was able to witness a very beautiful wedding, I know by heart that the two of them really worked hard to really make it happen. I'm so glad that you made me part of that journey, for letting me capture those special memories (char!) haha . Congratulations and best of luck to both of you.

Despite the heat of the sun, you guys were able to extend your patience an extra mile (haha). Here are some of the photos that I love from the set.

Suelas: For the love of Flats

My Suelas Collection

I'm a big fan of flats that is why I love their shoes.

Sometime last year I was browsing the internet to find something interesting. I discovered foldable flats, not Suelas but Footsie Roll. I have been reading feed backs and reviews about the brand that eventually convinced me in buying, not just 1 but 3 pairs at one time. Unfortunately to my dismay, they weren't really comfortable at all, it rips off easily in just one use. However it was true to its word being light weight and you can carry it all along in your bag. The transaction with the seller was also very easy but, just wished that I bought a dozen and even more spartan slippers instead (hehe). Siguro malas lang ako with my internet purchases. =(

Their packaging. Your reliable travel buddy.

But in my search of the most comfortable flats, I came across Suelas in the net. Luckily, they have their products displayed at Catalogue in Gaisano Mall in Davao. So I bought my first pair, that was Barca Red. I was happy with my purchase, I can wear in during my casual days with jeans and shorts. I am a fan of Suelas, and I will continue to patronize their products, but there are some points that I would warn you when you wear your suelas pair. Don't use it when it's raining, the water seeps in the sole, the feeling would be very uncomfortable. Wear it on regular sunny days, don't make it your everyday footwear, if you want your pair to last longer.
My Suelas collection

Over the year I have noticed the improvements of their product. The soles got thicker, the materials used are much more sturdier, and more durable compared it to their old designs (but i haven't tried wearing it when there is rain). It is still a good travel companion, since it's foldable and has its own carry on case for easy storage. It is not space consuming in shoe racks and best of all their designs are pretty, unique and proudly made in Pinas. They just had such an epic flats. Thank you Suelas.

My newest pair. My favorite among all hahaha :)

I just love the stud details of these shoes. With a little bit of color blocking going on, accented with Mandarin Orange and Fuchsia Pink. <3

Extreme Sky Experience Cebu

Overlooking Fuente Osmena Rotonda in Cebu City, very nice view.
Mga Plastic! hahaha Awkward pose.. Hadluk pud daw mi oi.

Last March 2011, Me and my friends (Sara and Kevin) went for the Sky Experience Adventure at the Crown Regency Hotel and Towers located at Fuente Osmena Blvd., Cebu City. I had my fear of heights, but I am  slowly desensitizing myself because I love adventure. Actually, the sky walk was like walking in the park. I never got scared at all. However, when we had our Edge Coaster Ride, I might say it's the worst ride of my life ever. It doesn't seem to look like that challenging, but once you're already on your seat and the coaster started to tilt 45 degrees tilting downwards upto 55 degrees facing down the busy streets of Cebu, who wouldn't curse and call for all the Gods and saints?! It was really scary, I really thought I was going to fall down, but the ride was EXTREMELY SAFE I must say. =) Packages starts at 550-750 php depends on the services/rides that you would like to avail. You cannot bring your own cameras by the way, they have their own official photographer to take your pictures, we paid for like 700 php for 14 shots  (you have an option not to avail the photos). It's kinda expensive, but it's worth the memories. They also print your photo at 8x10 size which costs around 250 php per copy . After the experience, they will be giving you your certificate that you have survived the Extreme Adventure Experience. Enjoy!
Free Style- Hala sige gara jud

Never leave sky walk without doing this.... because everyone does! haha

Felt comfy with this pose

Ug Nagtuo mo wala ko nahadlok?!?!haha

Ok, me got my certificate na. We almost forgot to claim it. hehe
Last August 2011, I went back again for my City Zip, the first urban zip line in the Philippines, taking you to one tower to the another. I first knew that it was operational when I watched their Sports Unlimited feature sometime during summer. Since I will be coming over to Cebu again, I decided to give it a try. I went back alone (Since I was with my Mother, Grandma and Aunt hehe) because I really wanted to try it, although it would only take you a few seconds, I just wanted to feel hanging in between towers. Life is like taking risks, you'll never know what it feels like if you never tried. 'Till next extreme adventure. Maybe I might try bungee jumping someday. Maybe lang naman.....hehehe
