The Birthday Girl

This blog post is for Mariel, since it is her birthday today. Cheers to that! We all add up the number of our age yearly and it also an avenue for us to be wiser and mature. Have a great one dear! =)

With bright summer hues and prints made way for Mariel's look we also had a great time styling the birthday girl. I initially had thoughts on putting something light and breezy for this shoot at the same time since it is her silver year, we had another set (which consists of prints and shadows) that signifies the woman that she is now.

No natural light for me this month, really enjoyed  flash photography lately and putting up my very own studio.

Thanks girl for making me a part of a significant milestone in your life!

For Your Eyes Only...

Define sexy?

It is something interesting... highly appealing... attracting...exciting and the definition just goes on. We all have our own perception on what is sexy. If you were to ask me, that would definitely be CONFIDENCE, which best describes this set. The confidence of 2 friends to do something awkwardly intimate just to make this shoot possible. Hats off to both for a job well done, for one day you were into each other. I find this very interesting and very out of the box from my usual pacute portrait sessions. This has been on of my best set yet!

This is my first time to do a sexy shoot. We initially planned to have a budoir concept but later on decided to have a sexy couple shoot. I know that it is not easy to convince anyone to do something like this, that is why I am very thankful to my friends Joey and Jojesa who were game on to do this most anticipated shoot ever. I have made it a point that every photo would look creatively done with elegance, passion and art.

We really had so much fun with shoot this because both possess a total opposite from their real personality. Surprisingly, everyone was very comfortable with the set despite the undeniable intimacy that both portrayed frame by frame.

PS: We have no intentions to offend anyone here (para sa mga conservative) so bawal ang negative dito learn how to appreciate and enjoy!

We had our inspirations from CK Ad Campaigns, although this is a much tamer version of their over the top daring Ads. There could have been more if my battery pack didn't went "kill joy" on that day.
Anyways, this is just a fun shoot so before you speak, before you criticize, and say something unfavorable, always remember that what you see here is just....

for your eyes only...

The Bag Lady

If I were to ask 10 women, 7 of them would probably say that they are definitely into and in love with bags. Next to shoes they are women's best friend. (Guilty hehe) It can tell a thousand tales and a thousand stories. With just the look of your bag can tell one's personality. We have flipped to thousands of pages on glossy magazines in our lifetime, I bet there is always a sophisticated ad campaign that caught our attention, so alluring how we wish we can just get hold of what we saw.

I reckon, this set which I called "THE BAG LADY" , best illustrates a women's love for her favorite accessory. Let us admit that most women cannot live without it, just like men without their cars and gadgets. This was best portrayed by Raissa, a simple lady with a sophisticated beauty within. Although there were some technical problems during the shoot, I am glad with the few frames that we had, we managed to have good shots still. And yes, I got to immortalized the beautiful things that used to pass by our eyes on pages. Thanks to Suzette who totally got some real talent on make-up! Can I say we achieved high fashion?! hehe

I so love this set, hope you guys would love this too.

Refer to my previous post where I got my inspiration for this set. :)

Playing with ONE LIGHT

Raissa in "THE BAG LADY"

The past month, I am very much engrossed with natural light photography. I am so embracing the different colors and tones that are so timely for the summer season. However, despite my love for the ambient light a part of me also wanted to be a strobist. I have been using the external flash for quite sometime already, there is no denying it that photos would insanely stand out than the usual. Unfortunately, I didn't dwell on too much of the technicalities and gadgets being used, so I had myself very much comfortable with the set up that I am used to. I admit, I have to push myself even more, I am more likely 85% self-taught on photography and it really sucks (haha), because I have to do research on my own there is so much to learn.... I need to have a mentor quick. hehe

Our photo inspiration: Christian Dior Ad Campaign featuring their New Collection alongside with their brand ambassador Mila Kunis (Friends with Benefits)

Anyway, these are just teaser shots from last weekend's fun shoot using one light. I love browsing on fashion magazine's editorial spreads and even brand campaigns. These inspires me to be more creative in photography in all aspects, from lighting to post processing. Our photo inspirations are from the Christian Dior Ad Campaign of Mila Kunis and Calvin Klein Editorial Shots. A sexy and luxurious shoot it is.

Joey and Jojesa for our fun and sexy shoot

I'm pretty much satisfied with my work though it's nothing like what you see on glossy magazines but I'd be happy if it is close to my photo inspirations. I'm thankful to my friends who were game on for this photo shoot. You guys rock, big time. Pramis!

Photo inspiration: For our sexy shoot is Calvin Klein EUPHORIA Ad Campaign.

Will be posting the photos from this set very soon...

A Designer in the Making

I used to do some sketching  back in the days, I had this aspiration before of being a designer. Honestly, I wished I have pursued something in relation to arts and I'm glad I found my passion in photography. We have to admit that women love to dress up and play with clothes, but my dreams of being one didn't flourished at all. I stopped doing sketches during college when all I have to do is study and keep up with my studies and nursing.

When I saw these sketches popping out on facebook homepage updates posted by Julius, a friend and classmate in college. At first look, I thought that those were sketches of some of his favorite designers that he has compiled, but to my surprise those were his own. I was totally impressed, it reminds me of the sketches on Nina Garcia's Books like the "One Hundred" and "Lookbook" and if you have been reading her books, you know what I am talking about. Not just that Juls is good at sketching, he also knows how to cook with credentials on culinary and has even a very good fashion sense. Yay! Very talented indeed!

Here are some of his sketches. And if these will come to be immortalized soon, I'd be more than willing to collaborate with him. haha Who knows?!!?

O diba ang taray. Inno Sotto ikaw ba yan?! hehe And as Juls claims that he is just starting and a beginner in doing this, in my personal opinion I really don't think so. (hahahah)  Job well done for these.

Credits and big thanks to Julius Aguirre for letting me post his sketches here in my blog.
